Dear Incubators,

I just wanted to echo Ammon's earlier post and thank all of you who have put in your love, blood, sweat and tears over the last few months into making this amazing place - the Hub Melbourne Incubator! I feel so lucky to have been a part of this process - we have shared so many dreams, made things with our hands and our heads and our hearts, learned so much from each other and... it has been so much fun! Big hug and thanks to: Ammon Beyerle, Brad Krauskopf, Nynke Feenstra, Simon Waller, Inge van der Poel, Marieka Jacobs, Dani Sirotic, David Hood, Nirvana, Marianne Meier, John Beckwith, Tom Drake, Damien Melotte, Chris James, Rama Manzart, Ashly, Andy Beyerle, Niyati Patel, Eva Migdal, Sarah Bruat, Lily Hsu, Yi Gong, Michael Chew, Nina Howard, Andrew Reynolds, Lyle Talbot, Deanne Koelmeyer - it has been such a privilege and an inspiration to collaborate with you!

I also wanted to say thank you to Mimi, Naomi & Mia, Olya & Svetlana - who are all part of our extended Hub family!

I'm so excited about this next phase - welcome to all our amazing new members!! - and I hope to have conversations with all of you about how our Hub can continue to grow and work together towards making that place that we all dream to create!

Lots of love, Michelle 'here' studio

Hi Nynke,

The drafting board I have is approximately
1500 mm wide by 1200 mm deep and adjustable
in height and tilt. It has a steel base
which can be separated from the board and
disassembled for ease of transport. The
board is made of Western Red Cedar with a
thick plastic laminate drawing surface and
has a Mutoh drafter RE2 drafting machine
fitted which can also be removed for
transport.

I am looking to lend this drafting board to
a good home for an indefinite period. I
love using this board and I'd like to be
able to use it again in future. I am going
overseas for an indefinite period and
rather than leaving this board stored at a
family members home I've been thinking it
would be nice to allow others to make use
of it while I'm not using it.

I look forward to checking out the new
space and meeting you soon.

I'll take a photograph of the board and
send it through when I have a chance.

Ciao,
Brendan

By the way, I use computers and their e-mail systems sporadically, meaning that
I may not receive your communication as promptly as you might expect. If you'd
like my attention immediately the best way to contact me is via phone, text
messages are as welcome as calls.

Now it is Phase Two! We have a space to work and meet in, and a million chances to start conversations every day.
Our next big milestone is February 1st, 2011, the opening of Hub Melbourne.

#1
Placemaking workshops (tea parties):
Every Thursday 6pm (with wine and tea), Hub Melbourne, Level 3 Donkey Wheel House, 673 Bourke Street

To continue the conversation we will be running a series of placemaking workshops: physical, social get-togethers to talk about the MAKING of this place: Hub Melbourne.

We will be inviting new Hub Melbourne members to join in, as well as some special guests to pour in diversity, energy, experience and make this the place we dream of.

#2
Keep the blog going!:
It's easy; keep sending your comments, ideas and continue the conversation by emailing post@hubmelbournedesignworkshop.posterous.com
