95% Recycled light prototype

I'm currently prototyping some hanging light shades, made from old bicycle parts and recycled cardboard. I'm thinking that they'd be great above the communal table or in the meeting room.

Chris

Update: Marianne and I are planning on meeting up over the weekend for a second prototype using knitting techniques and thread / yarn / paper instead of zip ties!

Great work on the light fittings. I recently visited Hopworks Organic Brewery in Portland who have used bike parts in almost every aspect of their building - from serving trays to light fittings http://www.hopworksbeer.com/index.php Not many photos on their site, but I took a few I can share if you're interested.
Yeah? Would be great if you could post on here.I think this protype Chris is a good place to start, we'd really like to showcase sustainable transport.. Which is hard from the 3rd floor!!
And this in Portland is a 'HUB'!
"

HUB is Portland’s first Eco-Brewpub to offer all organic handcrafted beers, fresh local ingredients, and a sustainable building with a relaxed and casual atmosphere. Brewmaster Christian Ettinger has spent the past year and half constructing his “dream brewpub.“  HUB incorporates all aspects of sustainability.  From composting to rain barrels, and from pervious pavers to hand dryers, we have made every effort to protect “our“ future with a thoughtful alternative.  Hopworks has four distinct areas including a family friendly restaurant with play area, a vibrant bicycle bar, banquet mezzanine, and outdoor beer-garden.  Our 20 barrel brewery produces 6000 barrels a year and provides our restaurant with ten different HUB organic beers on tap and two cask ales at all times. We have parking for seventy cars, eight motorcycles and up to fifty bikes.  Our world-class beer, New York style pizza, and wonderful staff are some of the best you will find anywhere. "
